Filter Cartridges

CBPB - Solid block activated carbon 0.5 micron with lead/heavy metal removal. Good as a single system for 2 people or with a CGC prefilter for longer lasting treatment.

CB - Solid block activated carbon 0.5 micron without heavy metal removal.

CBX - Solid block activated carbon 10 micron. Used in reverse osmosis filtration or high flow areas for basic treatment.

FL10-MAX - Fluoride specific removal with FluorSorb-Max. The latest advancement in fluoride filtration

CGC - Highly packed granular activated carbon. The most GAC in any standard size cartridge. Great addition for dual systems or in high flow areas inline to kitchen and bathroom sinks. 

ALK10 - Multimedia alkalizer cartridge for post filer.

CCB - Solid block activated carbon 1 micron with catalytic activated carbon for enhanced chloramine removal. CCB protect solid block 1 micron catalytic carbon certified for PFOA/PFOS removal and enhanced chloramine removal.

CC10 - Granular coconut shell carbon for specific uses as trace chemical removal with less general removals. 

GAC10 - Popular granular carbon cartridge. One of the original Ametek cartridges. 

W250 - Granular and block cartridges set made for thinner non-full size housings.

C1 - Inexpensize carbon impregnated paper cartridge.

The Pure & Simple housing is actually the original Ametek slimline housing capable of using many full size cartridges from a host of filter manufacturers. 

Throughout the past 50 years we became familiar with many filter housings and manufacturers. Most in time warped out, froze, cracked, and could not take some of the better full size standard cartridges. We decided to stick with what we knew was the best. Definitely not the most expensive by any means, in fact its extremely affordable to all. Ametek was one of the pioneers that first started. Cartridges available at that time were still not very good so in order to provide decent drinking water to our customers, we manufactured our own filter (our custom) and filled them with high quality blends of activated carbon. Technology finally caught up and excellent cartridges became available so we retired it. 

Ametek has since changed names and owners through the years: U.S. filter, American Plumber and now Pentek. They are available in singles, doubles and triples and a choice of fittings are available whether in brass compression or the new "push-fit" fittings. Even those we only stick with the tip of the line "John Guest" brand. Larger housings are also available from the same line that also has many types of cartridges available. Note that the activated carbon used in these cartridges are the best types for our water here in general. It actually could require a different type for each particular application or region. 

All housing are BPA free

BPA is a chemical additive used in various plastics. People have been asking us about BPA's in our filter housings. This was a concern with baby bottles, sippy cups, etc. It is used in the production of clear polycarbonate plastics. None of the housings, including our clear ones, are polycarbonate.
